To indicate that it is a bot that the user is chatting with, there is a purple “bolt” located in the lower right section of its profile picture. The bot bolt is applied by Kik to all bots created on our platform. Below you can see the difference between a user’s standard profile (left) and that of a bot with the bolt attached to it’s profile picture (right).
The bot bolt is visible in all locations where the user can view the bot’s profile image, which includes: when browsing the Bot Shop, on the bot’s profile, and when in a chat with the bot. Users will see the bolt beside the profile pictures of accounts that are bots and no bolt for accounts that are regular users.
